Why join the American Legion Auxiliary?

As a member, you become a part of the largest patriotic women’s service organization in the world.  The American Legion Auxiliary is dedicated to the service of helping veterans, their families, young people, and the community.

The Auxiliary has many programs that reach out and help our veterans, who have served or are serving to protect and preserve what we all hold dear our freedom.  There are programs that assist veterans and their families when disaster strikes or in time of need.  The Auxiliary also supports our children and youth with educational, scholarships, and sports programs as well as medical and crisis centers.  Auxiliary volunteers do all this and more.  And you can too.

Who’s Eligible?

The mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, or grandmother (step-relatives are eligible), of a current member of The American Legion, or a deceased veteran who served during any conflict listed on the application. Women veterans are also eligible to join the Auxiliary as dual member.

Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?

A: If your relative that served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.
